The daily challenge
At midnight UTC a new run is drawn: the same questions, in the same order, for every player on the planet. That is what makes the score comparable — a friend opening the same page plays exactly the run you just played, and the result grid shares in one tap without giving the answers away.
The challenge is played once a day and keeps a streak: playing every day grows it, skipping a day resets it. It needs no account, like every solo mode.
The 12 game modes
All of them cover the 195 UN member states — not just the thirty everybody knows. Each mode has its own page with the full rules and a few tips.
- Flags — A flag is shown: guess which country it belongs to, from the options.
- Capitals — A country is shown: find its capital among four choices.
- 3D Globe — A country name appears. Spin the 3D globe and tap the right country to find it.
- Silhouettes — A country’s outline appears with no name and no neighbours. Pick a difficulty each question — DUO (2 options), CARRÉ (4 options) or CASH (type it) — to score more.
- Borders — Two countries appear: link them by typing neighbouring countries, border after border. Each guess must touch the last country in your chain. Fewer steps = more points!
- Guess the Country — A mystery country is hidden. With each try you name a country and the game shows how it compares to the target: right continent, distance and direction, population, area… Identify it in as few guesses as possible.
- Rankle — You’re shown 8 countries, one at a time, and 8 themes (population, area, GDP…). For each country, pick the theme where it ranks best — closest to the No. 1 spot.
- Higher or Lower — Two countries, one theme (population, tourism, GDP…): tap the higher one. A new country steps in each round, and the chain runs until your first mistake.
- Daily Challenge — A quiz on a country’s subdivisions: French department numbers, US state capitals, state flags, German Länder capitals, Italian regional capitals… Pick a difficulty each question — DUO (2 options), CARRÉ (4 options) or CASH (type it).
- Online Duels — A live duel: you and your opponent answer the same questions (capitals, flags…), each on your side. The higher score wins the round.
- Ranked Mode — A live duel: you and your opponent answer the same questions (capitals, flags…), each on your side. The higher score wins the round.
- Story Mode — You’re shown 8 countries, one at a time, and 8 themes (population, area, GDP…). For each country, pick the theme where it ranks best — closest to the No. 1 spot.
How points are counted
Every round is worth 0 to 1000 points, on the same scale in every mode. Two things go into it: accuracy first — the right answer, or how close you got when the mode allows a near miss — then speed, which breaks the tie.
A shared scale is what makes a game of Flags comparable to a game of 3D Globe, lets the rounds of a multi-mode run add up, and keeps a single leaderboard. Games played signed out count for fun only; leaderboards read from a signed-in account.
Controls
On a computer: the mouse points, the wheel zooms the globe, click and drag spins it. On the keyboard you type a country name and Enter submits — handy in Borders, where answers come one after another.
On phone and tablet: one finger spins the globe, two zoom it, a tap points. Microstates — Monaco, San Marino, the Vatican, Nauru, Tuvalu and a few more — are too small to hit at globe scale and show up as a tappable dot once you zoom in.
With or without an account
Solo modes and the daily challenge run without signing up for anything. The free account does three things: it carries your progress from one device to another, it unlocks online duels and ranked play, and it puts you on the leaderboards.
The game also exists as an iPhone and Android app, with the same account and the same progress. The web version needs no install at all.

How many countries are in the game?

Do I have to install anything?
No, the page is enough — the game runs in the browser. The iPhone and Android apps are there for anyone who prefers an icon on their home screen.
